Success Story: XSport Spa

This year, XSport Fitness was selected for our 2014 President’s Award of Excellence – Wellness & Fitness Center. Perri Polowy, Spa Educator for all 16 XSport Spa locations, discusses how Repêchage Professional Skin Care has helped the spa division expand and make its presence within a fitness center.

What sets XSport a part as a wellness mecca?

“XSport wellness centers are everything you need under one roof! We have a workout facility, personal trainers, juice bar refreshments, child care, and many more attributes to our locations. Our spa offers not only massage, facials, manicures, pedicures, but also hair services. So it’s simply a one stop shop vehicle!”

You use Repêchage in the spa. What has been a favorite Repêchage treatment?

We have many, but it truly is a toss-up between the Repêchage Four Layer Facial and the Vita Cura Facial.”

Tell us your 3 best-selling skus from Repêchage.

“We sell a lot of Repêchage Hydra Medic® Sea Mud Perfecting Mask, Vita Cura® Opti Lift Serum and T-Zone® Balance Moisture Complex.”

You recently launched the “Get the Skinny on our NEW Body Contour Massage”… Can you tell us more about this treatment? How do you promote it?

“Get the skinny on our new body contour massage – Catchy huh? Well it worked! Marketing was brilliant, and we promoted this treatment 5 weeks prior to the event. This service is used with the Repêchage Vita Cura® Triple Action Nutrí Oil and Vita Cura® Triple Action Body Contour Cream. Both are massaged into the skin for a special treatment package of 30 minutes for $65. Very reasonable.”

Spa events are an area you excel in. Can you tell us more about these, and give an example of one that has been a major success?

“We take a vote throughout the spa, decide on the best time, day and amount of people that we will need for our events. Then we plan at least 4 weeks in advance about what we want for the event (colors, food vendors, drink vendors, decoration, gifts from vendors, etc.) We block out the times on the schedule and have marketing send us material that we can add around, and send out a mass email to our members letting them know about the event. We also post flyers all over the gym and spa to help garner attention.”

If you were only allowed to promote the spa in one way – what would it be? (Email, social media, etc.)

“That would be e-mail through our marketing department.”

What do you envision as the next big trend in wellness for consumers?

“Believe it or not, health screening is already taking a hold on gym members, so we find that we will be directed towards a different approach in the future. This means we will ask more questions about their daily activities, and add that information into consideration for future treatments, whether it be facials or massage, etc. We already have questionnaires set into place, but we feel we will be launched into another direction of questioning guests.”

How do you stay motivated every day?

“My motivation is when someone says, ‘Wow, my skin is so different! When can I come back for this again?’ This reminds me that we are delivering quality services that leave people happy with both their time spent with us and the results.”

What is your personal beauty secret?

“I started real early in the beauty industry, so to tell you the truth, besides lotions and potions, it’s a matter of how you take care of your body. Treat it right, and reap the benefits!”

What’s next for XSport Spa?

“XSport will be focusing on listening closer to client’s needs. Therefore we will be doing a lot more customization with facials. After all, we are all unique so why not have a personalized facial too?”
