While enjoying a Mediterranean Style breakfast, NYC media learned from Repêchage CEO and Founder, Lydia Sarfati, about these new creations from Repêchage. Sarfati began the event by giving the reason why Repêchage Hydra 4® Red-Out™ was created. “Time and time again I hear the same skin concern – ‘ I have sensitive skin.’ Hearing this over and over is what led me to the lab to begin the process of creating Repêchage Hydra 4® Red-Out™.”

After several years of extensive research, Repêchage Hydra 4® Red-Out™ was formed. Unique to Repêchage Hydra 4® Red-Out™, Sarfati explained, is the use of Micro Silver in the formula. Repêchage is the first professional skin care company in North America to be utilizing this new ingredient in skin care.  As Sarfati explained, research has found that one possible cause of rosacea, in particular, is bacteria living within microbes that thrive on the skin. The silver ions generated by Micronized Silver particles have been shown in multiple studies to be anti-microbial — they interfere with key enzymes that help to maintain bacteria cell walls. Micronized Silver has additionally been shown to be effective over a longer period of time than traditional silver powders.  By reducing bacteria levels, Repêchage Hydra 4® Red-Out™ products can help soothe inflamed and irritated skin, and reduce redness.

 

Sarfati also discussed how additional research has identified free radicals as one of the biggest environmental aggravators of hypersensitivity and rosacea.  The most common of these are the Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) found in air pollution. Seaweeds are one of the richest sources of natural anti-oxidants, containing ingredients such phlorotannins, sulfated polysaccharides, fucosterol and fucoxanthins. Repêchage Hydra 4® Red-Out™ Calming Cleanser and Hydra 4® Red-Out™ Serum both contain four different types of seaweed to provide anti-oxidant protection. Additionally, natural, anti-oxidant, ingredients including Quercitin, Rutin, Mirabilis Jalapa Extract, Organic Tumeric, and Sage Leave Extract are used in these products.

Sarfati also introduced the Repêchage Mineral Face Shield™.  Sarfati discussed how free radical damage is one major contributor to skin sensitivity, redness, irritation and conditions such as rosacea. However, not just those suffering from these conditions are in need of anti-oxidant protection. In fact, people of all ages and skin types need environmental protection, which is what led Sarfati to develop the Repêchage Mineral Face Shield™. This environmental protection from Repêchage offers mineral based protection with Zinc Oxide, a micronized mineral that helps to shield skin from free radical damage, and anti-oxidant protection with Laminaria Digitata Seaweed. As Sarfati described, it is a lightweight, soufflé like texture, is non-comedogenic, non-oily, and is light enough to go on under makeup without piling. As Sarfati noted, even her 3-year old grandson loves Repêchage Mineral Face Shield™, giving the cream a special name: “Lola Cream.”
