Philip Douglas and Doug Olsen of Philip Douglas Salon and their Chihuahua rescue, “Eva,” served as co-chairs (yes, Eva too!) and invited Lydia Sarfati to be the sole speaker for the 270 guests at the event, including New York Times Best Selling Author Janet Evanovich. At $10,000 per sponsor table, guests gathered to raise money for Human Society Naples – the only no-kill pet shelter in the state of Florida which receives no public funding.

Each year a notable public figure or celebrity within their field is invited to speak for guests. Past speakers of the event include NY Times Best Selling Author Sue Monk Kidd. Sarfati was selected to speak this year, as a result of her global recognition and her role as a pioneer in the beauty industry.

During her presentation, Sarfati discussed how the Humane Society’s goal of encouraging adoption relates to the same goal that Repêchage serves for clients (and the meaning of the word itself); “rebirth” or a “second chance.” Sarfati also discussed the power of touch, and how touch from animals and humans alike can impact one’s health and bring healing benefits. Lydia Sarfati and Repêchage also sponsored the gift bags for the event – each attendee received a Repêchage Algo Mist Hydrating Seaweed Facial Spray.

Other highlights of the event included an exclusive fashion presentation by Escales and Marilyn’s Distinctive European Fashion and of course the latest pet couture from Pucci & Catana Luxury Pet Boutique.

The overall event was a great success, with checks exceeding $1 million dollars being given to the organization.
